Bread is such an easy process and once you experience fresh bread from your own oven you’ll never go back to shop bought.

You'll be surprised at just how easy it is to make yourself.

The Perfect Loaf of Bread

Fluffy, soft perfect bread cooked at home Bread really is such an easy process and once you experience fresh bread from you oven you’ll never go back to shop bought.

Ingredients

  • 340g lukewarm water
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • 20g olive oil
  • 600g baker's flour
  • 2 tsp bread improver
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • Sesame seeds for top (optional)
  • High bread tin

Instructions

Thermomix Method
  1. Place lukewarm water, yeast and sugar in bowl and mix 5 seconds/speed 3
  2. (You can also put in cold water and heat 2 mins/37 degrees/speed 1)
  3. Add rest of ingredients in order listed and mix 6 seconds/speed 6
  4. Then turn to dough mode and kneed 5 mins
  5. Tip out and form a nice ball and place in a bowl and cover or wrap in bread mat and let sit until double in size
Traditional Method (No Thermomix)
  1. By hand - Mix all ingredients in a bowl and bring together until forms a sticky dough. Then kneed by hand for 10-15 mins until perfect and smooth
  2. Mixer - Add wet and then dry ingredients into mixer bowl. Using dough hook - mix together and then kneed for 5-7 mins until perfect and smooth
  3. Once risen, kneed a few times with your hands (use olive oil on your hands if it is sticky) and divide into 3 equal portions
  4. Push/roll out each piece into a long rectangle no wider then your bread tin and then roll up into a scroll. Repeat with all 3 pieces and then place into your bread tin (greased if needed) equal distance apart. Cover with a tea towel and let rise until it reaches the top of the tin.
Baking Method
  1. Wet the top of bread slightly with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  2. Place into a cold oven and turn on to 200 degrees and cook for 25 mins or until perfectly golden and sounds hollow when you tap the top
  3. Let rest for 5 mins before turning out onto a rack to cool before slicing

Notes

Will keep for 2-3 days in air tight container otherwise slice and freeze.
