Sunshine Coast Weekender
Nothing like a beautiful weekend away to recharge the batteries.
I love exploring and sharing with you the fun places we found. Here is a little recap of the weekend. As well as other recommendations for what to do if you head up for a weekend to the Sunshine Coast.
Kenilworth Bakery is famous for donuts. You can head to their main bakery in Kenilworth but they also have a coastal bakery in Mooloolaba. We headed straight there for coffee and donuts. My Favourite is the jam and cream donuts - you can even get in a 1kg version if you're feeling adventurous
For accomodation, we stayed at Novotel Sunshine Coast. This place is massive! Lots to do and would be a great family holiday destination. It was the perfect spot for us between Noosa and Sunshine Coast. Mooloolaba also has lots of great options for accommodation too.
We had heard great things about The Doonan so decided to head there for pre lunch drinks. It exceeded our expectations. It was so beautiful, with lots of different areas to sit. Super family friendly with lots of areas to explore and play. Lots of food options including pizza and an ice creamery. Great bar and delicious cocktails. I recommend the Passionfruit Caprioska.
When you book a whole weekend around eating, you have to go to Sum Yung Guys. And It was absolutely amazing once again!! Run don’t walk and make a booking here! This is my third time here and reminded me how delicious it is. An incredible venue and vibe. Perfect service, amazing cocktails and the most mouth-watering South East Asian food you could ever imagine. My favourites were the Kingfish and Beef short rib but I could not fault a thing. What an amazing testament to hard work, an amazing team and some kickass food. We will be back!
It also wouldn’t be a weekend away if I didn’t find a market!
We visited the Fisherman’s road Sunday market. It is a sweet local market. Delicious food and coffee, fresh produce, plants and second hand sales. There are so many markets up here over the weekend so google if you visit to find your local.
We then had a sneaky lunch at local fish and chips in Mooloolaba spit before heading home.
We had an amazing weekend and will definitely be back!

Extra mentions for the Sunshine Coast:
Eumundi Markets is the OG markets and an incredible to visit. Lots of great food and stalls
Noosa farmers markets every Sunday are also great
Rice Boi was the plan for lunch Sunday. We’ve eaten here before and it’s incredible
Giddy Geisha has also had great reviews and apparently, their Kingfish is also amazing
The Spirit House is on our list for next time. Little of the beaten track but I’ve only heard amazing things about the location and food
